ABENE was founded in 1938 as AB FR Eklunds Mekaniska Verkstad. The founder and owner was Mr. Elias Napoleon Eklund. The complete company facilities have been located in Stockholm. Already in 1942, mass production of ABENE milling machines started, and during the first year 54 units was produced. Until today, more than 8,000 ABENE milling machines have been delivered from Sweden all over the world.

The machines were sold under the brand name ABENE, and soon the name of the company was changed accordingly.
