Aircraft manufacturers and their supply chain partners place extremely high demands on high quality and reliable production processes. A prime example is Orizon Aerostructures, who partnered with Starrag to build something very unique in the American Mid-West.
The ECOSPEED F 2060 FMS is the largest, fully automated system of its type in the western hemisphere, consisting of a total of nine Ecospeed 5-axis high-speed machining centers. The ECOSPEED offers our customers an ideal solution in this regard. Thanks to its parallel kinematic machining head in combination with a powerful spindle unit, ECOSPEED are the most productive machines in the market for processing aluminum structural components. The parallel kinematic head – known as the Sprint Z3 – is one of the key features in achieving excellent part quality and high productivity. Compared we legacy multi-spindle gantry machines, ECOSPEEDS have enabled a machining time reduction of up to 87% - i.e. 25 vs. 3.5 hours for certain components.
