In 2001, Hexagon AB and Hexagon Metrology, Inc. (now Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence) acquired Brown & Sharpe, an influential machine tool and metrology pioneer. A new book by Gerald Carbone celebrates the contributions made by Brown & Sharpe and tells the story of the nearly 185-years of Rhode Island’s rich industrial history. Some of our employees have been with Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence since before the acquisition and remember working for Henry Sharpe Jr, former CEO of Brown & Sharpe.
