We visited Villeroy & Boch in Germany to see how they’ve been using our SmartScan structured light scanner to make their quality control processes more efficient. As a leader in bathroom, wellness, dining and lifestyle manufacturing, Villeroy & Boch has a large and varied product range for which high-speed 3D data acquisition has proven to be extremely valuable. Since 2018, they have been using the SmartScan optical 3D scanner in combination with a turntable unit to run a semi-automated quality inspection process that can quickly digitise a wide range of complex ceramic shapes for CAD-comparison analysis.
