We recently spoke with Zeeshan Qureshi, Lead Research Engineer on the Design Analysis and Composite Automation team at the AMRC Composites Centre, about how he and his team are using Hexagon’s Vision System 3D to improve the inspection of composite parts. A camera-based system that works in tandem with an Absolute Arm and laser scanner, the VS3D can pinpoint deviations in fibre orientation on semi-finished composite parts to an unrivalled degree of accuracy much faster than standard manual methods.
