Absolute Tracker: Powering productivity with laser scanning at Volvo Olofström

We visited Volvo Olofström to find out how the plant’s quality team have improved their efficiency from prototyping through to production with the use of our Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 laser tracker system paired with our Leica T-Scan 5 and Leica Absolute Scanner LAS-XL laser scanners. This scanner pairing is ideal for tooling inspection – high-speed, high-accuracy scanning of the detailed upper section of the tooling with the T-Scan 5 is paired with the large stand-off distance of the LAS-XL. This allows the deep cavities within the tooling to be precisely measured, ensuring material saving design choices are accurately manufactured without compromising the structure of the tooling.
