Description
BAILEIGH Industrial offers several models of sheet metal flange formers. This tool is used to stretch or shrink a folded edge.
The sheet is inserted into the nose; when the lever is pressed, the jaws first clamp the sheet, then, due to the inclined parts located above and below, the jaws move apart. The sheet is stretched at this point.
The principle is the same for shrinking the sheet, except that the jaws move closer together instead of apart. Once the flange is shrunk, the flange that was worked will be roughly doubled in thickness.
