Description
The DS450/130C machining centre is characterised by 2 machining systems:
On the one hand – the U-axis turning device, with a diameter of 450 mm, which is fitted with two tool-holder positions on the moving part of 130 mm, suitable for turning operations from small to large diameter, using the same tool. This turning device can carry out virtually any type of turning operation – spherical or conical, as well as boring and single-point threading with standard drilling and threading tools.
On the other hand, the high-speed spindle, located below the device, is used for milling, drilling, tapping and other machining operations. For high-speed drilling and turning applications, the high-speed spindle incorporates a differential system controlled by the numerical control, for tool programming. During turning operations the tool functions as a lathe, using constant surface speed to achieve an optimal level of metal removal while preserving tool life. The U-axis device is locked in position whenever the spindle is in operation.
This robustly built machine is equipped with an excellent chip evacuation system and a fully enclosed monitoring system.
All internal components of the head are continuously lubricated by a progressive lubrication system.
The frame is made of welded and stabilised steel. The head is made of Meehanite cast iron.
