Accupocket, a MMA welding station on battery
Monday, April 7, 2014Description :
A hybrid MMA welding system that for the first time in the world operates with a high-performance rechargeable lithium ion battery and gives unprecedented freedom of movement to manual electrode and TIG welding.

To weld the arc out of range of the electrical outlets, it is usually necessary to move with its welding station, but also with a generator of great power. Fronius has solved this problem by developing Accupocket, a battery-operated MMA 150 A welding machine.

Its high-performance rechargeable Lithium-ion battery allows it to weld up to 18 2.5 mm (or 6 3.2 mm or 1.6 meter) TIG welds while limiting the weight of the l To 11 kg.

With a dedicated charger, the station can also be operated by being connected to the mains and can be recharged in less than 45 minutes or even 30 minutes under fast charge. The absence of connection to the mains allows use in hazardous areas (tanks) or isolated (railways). In terms of welding quality, AccuPocket also surpasses the MMA generators connected to the electrical network.

Accupocket has been specially designed for welding repair in inaccessible locations where there is no access to the electrical grid. It is also ideally suited for electrically hazardous environments: welding of boilers and tanks, shipbuilding, railways.

The Accupocket welding system won the Innovation Trophy in the "Ergonomics" category at Industrie Paris 2014,
