Lorch Schweisstechnik GmbH is revolutionizing electrode welding with MicorStick: unlimited mobility thanks to innovative welding technology with rechargeable batteries.
At the International Craft Fair in Munich, the two new products MicorStick and MobilePower were awarded the 2014 Federal Prize for outstanding innovative craftsmanship.
The patented Micor inverter technology of the electrode welding machine guarantees a stable and powerful arc for optimal welding results with the 230V network - even in the case of large variations in voltage or generator operation. In case of connection on powerful battery packs, MicorStick allows for the first time to solder independently of the electrical network or the generator.
Lorch Introduces MicorStick 160 as First Electrode Welding Device with 100% Resonant Micor Technology for the Single Phase Domain and Transmits the Advantages of Micor Industrial Inverters to the Classical Field of Construction, Crafts and Construction 'interview. The new installation is seduced by a particularly powerful and stable arc.
Thanks to Lorch's proprietary Micor inverter technology, MicorStick achieves optimum welding results even when using generators and cables up to 200 meters in length. The device compensates for any variations in mains voltage, in order to obtain reliable welding behavior, even in the case of unstable and weak current networks with an amplitude of variation of -40 to +15 per cent. In standard version, the installation is also compatible cellulosic electrodes. It is therefore ideal for pipe builders who often have only the electrical network on site.
MicorStick 160 is 100% compliant with the current connection standard and can be used without restriction in all public power grids. Thanks to the Micor Inverter technology, MicorStick delivers excellent performance for efficient power consumption. Lorch goes even further - to minimize power consumption after a non-use time, the device automatically switches to energy-saving mode. MicorStick can be quickly restarted by pressing a button. Thanks to its low weight of 4.9 kilograms and a resistance to falls of up to 80 cm, MicorStick is perfectly suited for difficult applications in workshops and on construction sites.
Welding with batteries with MicorStick and MobilePower
With the "all in" technology, the specialists of Auenwald guarantee maximum flexibility and mobility. In the "Accu ready" version, it is also possible to connect MicorStick to the MobilePower 1 battery pack and therefore to solder independently from mains or generator. In the MobilePower 1, high-voltage Li-ion batteries provide the maximum welding current. 28 electrodes of 2.5 mm diameter or max. 12 electrodes of 3.2 mm diameter. The Lorch electrode unit automatically recognizes whether MicorStick is connected to the power grid or the battery pack and transforms the energy with a high arc-stable output.
When using multiple MobilePower battery packs, the energy reserve, and thus the available welding time, can be increased at will. With a weight of 7 kilograms, the MobilePower is easy to carry. With the MicorStick installation, the welder has different combinations of port and transport: standard belt, carrying handles or comfortable backpack solution.
Multiple distinctions
Lorch Schweisstechnik GmbH received two renowned distinctions for its MicorStick and MobilePower products. Iris Gleicke, Member of the Bundestag and Parliamentary Secretary of State to the Federal Minister of Economy and Energy, awarded the "Federal Award for Outstanding Innovative Benefits for the 2014 Munich International Craft Show" 'Craftsmanship' at Lorch, highlighting the importance of these two innovations.
The fact that the topic of welding with batteries is of concern to the metalworking market is visible, among other things, in the result of the vote of the choice of readers of the trade magazine M & T Metallhandwerk. In the "Forming, Assembly and Separation Technique" category, MicorStick 160 Accu-ready has seduced more than renowned competitors. "This proves that we are on the market with the right product at the right time," says Andreas Rimböck, Director of Product Management at Lorch. Independent network welding increases productivity for a wide range of applications.
