EcoCDuty from Dürr Ecoclean - a solvent cleaning system that combines innovation and modularity for heavy and bulky loads
A stable, fast process and cost control to clean a ton of parts
Companies in the quenching, forming, automotive and aerospace industries need large capacity plants to control the cost of cleaning and degreasing parts. It is especially for this field that Dürr Ecoclean has developed the large work chamber solvent cleaning system, the EcoCDuty. It is designed to handle loads of 1 250 x 840 x 970 mm, up to one ton. The plant, which operates on hydrocarbons or modified alcohols, is equipped to allow short cycle times while guaranteeing high cleaning quality and process safety. Designed in a modular way, it is also distinguished by its simplicity of use and its design.
For quenching workshops, what counts is to clean large quantities of parts before and after quenching in oil. For the manufacturers of punched and shaped parts, which come out of the press at a rate of 1s, what matters is that the cleaning of the parts does not slow down the production flow. And finally, for chassis parts and other aluminum and steel components, the automotive industry requires surfaces that are ideal for laser welding. The cleaning technology must meet the requirements of components such as honeycomb parts, molded parts and tubes in the aeronautics industry, which are high in view of their dimensions and the expected cleaning result. The products are very diverse, yet the expectations with regard to the cleaning system are the same: facilities that are capable of ensuring high capacity, process safety, economical, energy efficient and fast. High availability, easy maintenance, respect for the environment, reasonable investment costs and short delivery times are also decisive factors that were taken into account during the development of the new EcoCDuty.
Dürr Ecoclean's large working chamber cleaning system with hydrocarbons or polar solvents (modified alcohols) operates under complete vacuum and adapts to the specific requirements of the customer thanks to its modularity. It is equipped in series with steam degreasing and available with one or two steel tanks, for example for steam degreasing and forced turbulence washing or steam degreasing, forced turbulence washing and Conservation. For all three variants, vacuum drying is a standard function. Chlorinated oils as used in forming processes can be removed with stabilizable solvents according to the compatibility tests of the oils. The installation can also be used without restriction for the removal of sulfur-containing oils.
High quality cleaning at reduced costs
The EcoCDuty is equipped with a new system of pre-degreasing with steam to guarantee a high quality of cleaning. This innovative function leads the solvent charged with oil directly into the distillation system. This is to minimize the oil enrichment of the solvent and oil deposits in the tank and improve the degreasing power. This is what the distillation system allows, thanks to its large capacity of 400 to 500 liters / hour depending on the solvent used. The distilled oil is automatically evacuated by exporting oil in series with a capacity of four liters / hour. In case of high oils import, the power can be doubled by adding a second unit, to reach eight liters / hour. The distillation is equipped with an upstream filtration unit, with pocket or candle filter, to retain the particulate pollution of the solvent. It also contributes to the good result of the cleaning and a long service life of the solvent.
The EcoCDuty is equipped with powerful pumps with variable frequency drive to allow rapid filling and emptying of the working chamber and tank. Unproductive idle times are thus reduced, cleaning processes accelerated and their costs reduced.
In addition, these models have a separate filtration circuit for each tank. Complete solvent filtration is carried out upstream and downstream with three filtration units per tank. They can be equipped with pocket filters and spark plug filters. Thus, high cleanliness requirements can be satisfied reliably.
Safer and simpler operation, easy maintenance
In designing the EcoCDuty, Dürr Ecoclean favored low operating costs and high availability. First, a new 7-inch color display was developed with explicit pictograms. It makes it possible to operate the cleaning installation with ease, safety and speed. Stainless steel tanks with a smooth surface are designed without recessed heating. As a result, there are no areas where chips and particles could accumulate and lead to recontamination of parts. Users who do not yet use a steam heating system may use an optional external steam generator to heat the distillation. The tanks are fully heated by the heat release from the distillation device, so no additional energy is required.
As far as loading is concerned, the EcoCDuty adapts itself to the customer's own requirements. Depending on the equipment, the installation can be manually loaded with a pallet truck and a forklift truck. In addition, it is possible to design customized loading solutions: single or multi-seater, semi-automatic or fully automated.
The large maintenance openings are still a plus to add to the novelties. They provide quick and easy access to all parts requiring maintenance. This reduces downtime for maintenance.
The roof of the installation is not only design, it protects it from dirt and heat in hostile environments, also allowing an interior ventilation.
