Enhanced production efficiency, reduced footprint: with PC-based Control
Wednesday, March 14, 2018Description :

Optimise your window production machines with high-performance and compact automation solutions
The Beckhoff trade show appearance at this year’s Fensterbau Frontale is aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing system footprint with a highly integrated and compact automation solution. Continuously expanding its modular system offering, Beckhoff introduces products to the market that offer maximum performance in a compact design. Take for example the new ultra-compact IPCs, which combine maximum performance with an extremely small form factor, thus saving valuable installation space in control cabinets or on the machine. Among the highlights at the Beckhoff Booth this year will be the new AMP8000 motor modules, which integrate the servo drive directly into the servomotor, effectively paving the way for modular machine concepts.

AMP8000: Reducing the machine footprint and installation space
The AMP8000 distributed Servo Drive system integrates the servo drive directly into the servomotor, breaking new ground for modular machine design. By relocating the power electronics directly to the machine, the space requirements within the control cabinet are reduced to a single coupling module that can supply multiple servo drives with just one cable via a distribution module.

High-end computing power in an ultra-compact design
At Fensterbau Frontale, Beckhoff is presenting two members of the new generation of extremely compact and flexible IPCs: The new C6030 combines the ultra-compact design of the C6015 with maximised computing power and up to 3.6 GHz per core. This makes it the ideal all-in-one controller for machine control.

Small footprint, optimised diagnostics – with system-integrated overcurrent protection

In the new EL922x EtherCAT Terminal series, Beckhoff has directly integrated electronic overcurrent protection into the highly compact EtherCAT I/O system to safeguard 24 V DC system components. In comparison with currently available protection devices, costs and space requirements in control cabinets can therefore be reduced.

Scalable drive technology
All demands of the window and door industry are perfectly covered with the highly scalable drive solutions from Beckhoff. The AM8000 series servomotors are available in six sizes. Installation times and associated costs are reduced through the use of One Cable Technology (OCT). Servo, stepper and DC motors can be directly integrated into Beckhoff I/O system by means of motion control terminals and allow attractively priced drive solutions to be realised.
