What began with a ground-breaking ceremony on 9 March 2017 was occupied in September 2017 after a construction period of just six months and officially inaugurated on 23 February 2018: Fertig Motors' new mechanical production facility.
Fertig Motors belongs to the Beckhoff Group and primarily develops and produces servo motors for Beckhoff at its site in Marktheidenfeld. Over 4 million euros were invested in the construction of the production facility alone. A production area of 2500 m2 has been created plus an additional 1000 m2 for offices and common rooms. Apart from that, around 3 million euros have been invested in ultra-modern, high-value CNC machines in addition to the personal accumulation of the necessary CNC know-how. Fertig Motors' Managing Director Dietmar Hamberger explains the motivation behind the project: "The motor shafts and housings for our AM8000 servo motors previously came from suppliers, but now we can manufacture the majority of them ourselves and thus considerably expand the manufacturing depth and our own assembling competence. That is an important step towards securing our high quality standard, even with the enormous growth of the company. Not only that, having our own mechanical production simplifies the fastest possible implementation of individual customer requirements as well as of prototypes and innovation projects. These three manufacturing aspects – supply reliability, flexibility and speed – form the ideal basis for being able to produce more than 100,000 servo motors annually by 2020 at the latest."
