This new series of variable frequency drives is a solution for demanding industrial automation applications for power ratings from 0.55 to 160 kW.
The new DG1 variable frequency drives are distinguished by their versatile communication. All models are equipped with standard Ethernet IP communication interfaces, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU and BACnet MS / TP. Plug-in cards can also be used for connection to Profibus DP, CANopen, DeviceNet, ProfiNet and LonWorks as well as to the innovative Eaton SmartWire-DT interconnection and communication panel. In addition, these devices are equipped with several digital and analog inputs as well as three relays, thus providing more connection possibilities than many of the other devices of the category on the market today. In addition, the DG1 can also be expanded with ease and flexibility thanks to various additional cards.
The installation of this drive is particularly simple. For many applications, the installer is thus able to put the device into service in the field "as soon as it leaves the package", without having to go through many adjustment parameters. The clearly designed menu-guide displayed on the five-line LCD screen, explicit type codes, only 14 standard parameters simplify the commissioning of drives in demanding applications. The membrane keypad has two freely configurable keys and three LEDs indicating at a glance the status of the device. The control elements can be installed either locally on the device or remotely, for example in the door of the control cabinet, in order to easily control several devices. Eaton also offers a choice of ergonomic configuration through the innovative InControl software that is also suitable for tracking and
The drive software installed on all DG1 variable speed drives offers outstanding features such as active power optimization, dynamic feedback power management, a quick start wizard, various standard function blocks Applications (multi-pump system, fan control, multi-PID and multi-use), safety functions, safe torque (STO) function and real-time clock. In terms of energy consumption,
Eaton has been able to reduce the power required to drive engines by 2 to 10% compared to other variable frequency drives on the market, without further optimization.
The DG1 offers an overload resistance of 110% for variable torques and 150% for constant torques. At 100 kA of breaking capacity, the short-circuit current capacity of variable frequency drives is well above average. Thanks to an integrated DC choke, the variable frequency drive has only a very small harmonic component and consequently the user does not need any additional external components. EMC filters (category C2) are also standard on all devices.
The range of drives with variable frequency is available in six dimensions meeting the protection class IP 67 for all the housings. Electronic boards are protected from dust, moisture and chemicals by a special coating. For more severe environmental conditions or remote control, the housing can be changed to IP54 using a conversion kit. Thanks to a special heating mode, the range of operation of the DG1 is from 35 ° C to + 50 ° C and even up to + 60 ° C with derating.
