Rockwell Automation announces the launch of the Allen Bradley PanelView Plus 7 Standard graphics terminal, which provides machine manufacturers with new options to define the size, functionality and connectivity of their graphics terminals. The terminals are available in five screen sizes, with wide screen options.
"As facilities strive to evolve into a Connected Enterprise, machine operators rely more than ever on graphic terminals to monitor and respond in real-time to an increasing amount of critical data," said Scott Oakley, Product Manager At Rockwell Automation. "We are introducing a wider range of options and increasing the screen resolution of our terminals so that data can be quickly and easily viewed in the way that best suits each user's application. "
? The PanelView Plus 7 Standard operator interface is available with screen sizes from 4 to 10 inches. Widescreen formats are available for the 4 and 9 inch options to provide better viewing.
Operators can leverage the mobile capabilities of the PanelView Plus 7 Standard to monitor data throughout the plant using a tablet, smartphone, or other mobile device. VNC (Virtual Network Computing) connectivity also supports secure monitoring of applications on mobile devices from remote sites.
To more efficiently configure multiple machines, machine builders can save projects on the PanelView Plus 7 Standard SD card. This avoids the tedious process of configuring the same project for multiple machines. Users can register their operating system, network configuration, data logs, recipes, and other files on the SD card to quickly restore operations in the event a terminal should be replaced. Operators can also access saved diagnostics such as messages, alarms, and warnings to help solve problems and facilitate proactive maintenance activities.
The Rockwell Automation software library now includes front panels and add-ons for the PanelView Plus 7 Standard operator interface to help machine builders save time during development. These innovations make it possible to reduce the development times of complex screens by 90%.
New fixings allow you to quickly and easily install and remove terminals without using tools. They reduce installation and maintenance times and minimize the risk of over-tightening and damaging the terminal during installation.
PanelView Plus 7 Standard terminals provide connection to a controller and up to 25 screens and 200 alarms with ATEX certification. They complement the Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5370 programmable automation controller for small application support. Combined with Rockwell Automation's FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (TM) v8.0 software, they simplify project maintenance and improve the management of multiple applications on a single device.
