Description
The boring machine DS1200/450C is characterised by 2 machining systems:
On the one hand – the turning device with 1200 mm of U-axis diameter, which has three tool-holder positions on the moving part of 450 mm, suited to turning operations from small to large diameter, using the same tool. This turning device can carry out virtually any type of turning operation – spherical or conical, as well as single-point boring and threading with standard drilling and threading tools.
On the other hand, the high-speed spindle, located below the device, is used for milling, drilling, tapping and other machining operations. For high-speed drilling and turning applications, the high-speed spindle incorporates a differential system managed by the numerical control, for programming the tool. During turning operations the tool works like a lathe, using constant surface speed to achieve an optimal level of metal removal while preserving tool life. The U-axis device is locked in position whenever the spindle is running.
This robustly built machine is designed to include an excellent chip evacuation system and a fully enclosed monitoring system.

All internal components of the head are constantly lubricated with a progressive lubrication system.
The frame is made of welded and stabilised steel. The head is made of Meehanite cast iron.
