Canon completes its video surveillance offering with a new range of network cameras
Sunday, March 15, 2015Description :
Canon, the leader in image and document management systems and solutions, today announced 9 new models to complement its networked cameras offering.
The high performance of these new network cameras enables them to be used in a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications, including retail, city surveillance and strategic infrastructure. These nine cameras are all equipped with an ultra-low dispersion lens from Canon's advanced technology. They cover a wide viewing angle, feature an anti-reflective infrared coating and are equipped with a new high-sensitivity CMOS sensor that allows them to achieve low-light performance that upsets existing standards.
These new network cameras include both 360 ° PTZ (Pan / Tilt / Zoom) models, fixed domes and fixed cameras for indoor and / or outdoor use.

PTZ models offer users a wider zoom range that will facilitate identification even in low light, while outdoor models are IK10 certified (anti-vandalism), ensuring reliability in any environment. The design and design of the exterior camera housings have been designed to withstand significant temperature variations, enabling use in a wide range of environmental conditions.
All these new network cameras support the optimized H.264 format and display redefined image quality settings. The new Area-specific Data Size Reduction (ADSR) technology gives users better bandwidth control by enabling them to select up to 8 distinct areas in the camera field and choose to record either HD or Standard, resulting in a significant reduction in infrastructure and storage costs.
Advanced optical technology

Equipped with the latest Canon technology, these network cameras offer optimum performance since they are equipped with two types of lenses, High UD and Super UD. While the Super UD lens reduces blurring in visible and infrared light and facilitates focusing and high resolution during light changes, the High UD lens counteracts chromatic aberration despite a compact size. These are the first Canon network cameras to be equipped with High UD lenses.

Julian RUTLAND, Planning and Strategy Director, Canon Europe, explains: "CCTV has become an essential tool for fighting crime and improving security. The closed circuit video surveillance market is evolving rapidly, so it is important to be able to offer customers solutions adapted to their environment and their specific needs.

Our new cameras perfectly complement the existing video surveillance offer, as they meet the expectations of the market in terms of high quality performance in low light levels while sparing the bandwidth. "

The new range of network cameras conforms to the ONVIF Profile S standard for easy integration with most VMS platforms and the ONVIF Profile G standard for recording, searching and reading images from A peak recording device.

Julian RUTLAND continues: "Our new cameras offer system integrators and customers the product format, performance, longevity, compliance and certifications required today in the dynamic security marketplace. They stand out because they are state-of-the-art network video surveillance solutions that can be used both indoors and outdoors.
