Passive cooling module for LED
Saturday, July 25, 2015Description :
Designed for LEDs with a maximum power of 50 W, these modules offer many advantages such as no power consumption, high lightness and compactness and zero noise levels.

To develop this cooling module, Sunon engineers used a heat pipe solution that was much lighter than the usual passive cooling solution with an aluminum profile. The thermal conductivity of the heat pipe is also much higher than that of aluminum, guaranteeing better cooling efficiency.

The basic material of the cooling modules consists of a combination of aluminum and copper. The finish is aluminum. The modules in the range weigh between 195 and 290 g. Customized solutions that meet specific customer needs are also possible. The prototyping time is two weeks and mass production can be achieved in eight weeks.

Sunon passive LED cooling module is very easy to install due to the absence of motor, thus giving a great lightness to the system. Additionally, if customers typically install the LED chip at the base of the cooling module, Sunon may plan to drill additional fixing holes. It is also possible for engineers at SUNON to submit a proposal according to the customer system's fixing specifications on the basis of the module. This has the objective of simplifying the installation.

Sunon's range of passive cooling modules for LEDs comes in 5 standard product references, with two types of diameters (90 and 99 mm) and heights (110 and 160 mm).
