Copex to conquer the Turkish market
Thanks to Asil Çelik, the main producer of quality steel in Turkey, the Breton company COPEX enters the Turkish market through the main gate. As a result of a global competition, the teams of Asil Çelik Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance and Operations & Investment Management chose the new Lidex 1300 t from COPEX, which was commissioned before the summer of 2015.
Lidex side compression shears are particularly suitable for shearing and compacting heavy and bulky scrap and are the only ones on the market to offer a fully automatic cycle including compression and shearing, resulting in high production rates at low costs operating.
Lidex 1300 t: excellent performance measured on site
The performance of the machine (a cutting force of 1300 tons, a cutting width of 1 m, a compression box of 8 x 2.60 m) meet all requirements of the Turkish steel producer. From the start, operated jointly by the teams of Copex and the operators of Asil Celik, the Lidex has given all the measure of its robustness and its rapidity:
Cut: 56 tons / hour - average closing time 29 seconds (cutting length 60 cm, domestic scrap)
Cut: 63.5 tons / hour (cutting length 80 cm, domestic scrap)
The compaction density of the Lidex 1300 was preponderant in the choice of Asil Çelik: "The objective was to increase the density of the scrap to optimize the loading of the baskets, reducing the number of loads, and thus reduce the Opening time of the electric furnace, to save electrical energy and increase steel production ".
