LWIR: a new thermal process camera
Tuesday, September 29, 2015Description :
This thermal camera, protected by an IP67 enclosure, is intended for on-line industrial processes and for quality control in demanding and particularly hot environments.

The new Serval machine vision camera provides images of 640 x 480 pixels at a rate of 50 Hz and a wavelength range of 8 to 14 ?m. The Gigabit Ethernet interface is fully compatible with the standard GigE Vision and allows fast data transfer over distances of up to 100 meters.

With 75 mK NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference), the camera ensures high sensitivity even for weak signals.

This thermal camera is particularly compact (only 55 x 55 x 130 mm, depending on the lens) and is extremely robust. Its IP67 housing includes additional lens protection that makes it possible to use the camera in temperatures of 0 ° C to 60 ° C. This frontal protection is achieved by a jet of cleaning air which avoids an expensive maintenance or the regular replacement of the objective. The saving of time is ensured, even in very dusty places.

The installation of a complex protection system as well as thermal calibration are therefore no longer necessary. This camera provides a compact and economical system for industrial image processing, and accelerates time-to-market.

Many configurations are also possible, with a specific focal lens with fixed focal length, optional IP67 cabling, a sun visor and an I / O module.

Machine vision thermal imaging cameras are commonly used in the automotive, food and electronics industries.

The new Serval camera has been designed for reliable long-term use in harsh environments. In this highly specialized field, this camera offers system integrators an efficient and high performance solution, requiring no maintenance.
