MECANAT Précision, a company belonging to the EUCLIDE INDUSTRIE group, has just commissioned a HURON MX 12 M 5-axis milling center. This versatile machine will enable complex machining on parts intended for the Aeronautics or Energy markets .
HURON has made the difference by proposing a specific adaptation of its milling center, which translated for MECANAT Precision by a significant investment for an industrial equipment good destined to be used for 20 years!
To increase and optimize its productivity, MECANAT Précision decided in 2013 to equip itself with a machining center of last generation able to machine parts in a volume of 1,500 x 1,500 x 1,000 mm.
A dozen manufacturers were consulted and only 3, including HURON, had the opportunity to present a product that could satisfy the requirements of the specifications. The HURON MX 12 M milling center was finally established technically. However, despite the theoretical validation of the feasibility of the workpieces, there remained a major problem of geometric accessibility for certain complex machining operations.
"HURON is a French SME on a human scale. We work with a distribution network but we are also in direct contact with our customers. Our technical and engineering capabilities allow us to adapt our products to their needs. HURON attaches great importance to satisfying customer requirements. This culture allows us to offer technical assistance at every stage of the decision-making process and to understand perfectly what modifications to make to our products. "Says Yvano CREMA, Sales Engineer.
HURON design engineers designed a specific part that was custom made in a foundry.
Based on CAD simulations, a video showing how this solution could machine the most complex parts was provided to MECANAT Accuracy by the HURON Applications department.
The multifunctional milling centers of the HURON MX series, flexible and modular, enable 5-axis and 5-sided machining operations from one rough to the other, in a single workpiece socket. The MX series combines power, speed and precision. 5-axis machining can be performed for parts up to 4,000 kg and difficult materials are machined in a short time. Very high precision is applied to the production of contours and profiles.
MECANAT Accuracy uses the MX 12 M machining center to produce aeronautical parts, such as motor housing parts or structural parts, industrial gas turbine parts such as rectifier grids, wheels and Rectifiers of centrifugal compressors.
"EUCLIDE has selected Huron, which has been able to adapt its offer with great flexibility to meet the needs of its customers, while the others are in a standard catalog approach. The machine has been in production since the beginning of the year and everything is going very well. HURON offered technical assistance for the development and integration of the tool magazine with the control software.
This investment also allowed us to improve our brand image by the quality of our achievements on this dimension of parts. As machining subcontractors, we must have technical capacities at the level of those of our customers for whom we are, either a second source or a single source of production. We now realize parts of 2.2m3 volume with a precision to the hundredth.
For example, our customers particularly appreciate the automatic probing function, allowing the realization of aeronautical parts or other from foundry crudes. The machine senses a few defined points, marks the swing, and performs machining. This allows us to develop our customer base and secure the processes on the machine to avoid human errors. A room costs easily 50 to 100 K ? and can be unique; Do not miss it! We now have a complete industrialization chain from simulation to realization, for prototypes and small series, "concludes Jean-Marie Jacquet, CEO of MECANAT Précision.
