New 4 ... 20 mA output option for Krohne VA40 variable section flowmeters
Tuesday, March 3, 2015Description :
With this new option that equips these flowmeters with glass measuring tube, it is now possible to read the flow locally and to transmit the measured value for control or evaluation purposes.

With the VA40 WIM version, the height of the float is converted into an electrical signal via a Hall effect sensor chain. This signal can be used for PLC (PLC for Programmable Logic Controler) / SNCC (DCS for Distributed Control System), or for recording the measured value over a period of time with a Recorder of data.

VA40 variable flow meters are used to measure the volume flow of liquids or gases. The glass measuring tube allows visual inspection of the product to be measured in order to evaluate properties such as gas drives or gas coloration.

Typical applications include measurement of flushing, gas purging or inerting, heating and cooling circuits, measurement of gas in industrial furnaces, or other standard applications in the mechanical engineering and Process, where this purely mechanical principle has proved its worth for nearly 100 years.

The maintenance free unit is mounted directly in the pipe using flange connections, screws, brackets or pipe fittings. Installation in hazardous areas according to ATEX II2G Ex ia IIC T6 Gb and ATEX II2D Ex ia IIIC T85 ° C DB is achievable.
