Seco EPB® 5867 chuck for optimal tapping quality
Tuesday, March 10, 2015Description :
Seco completes its range of high-quality attachment systems with its new EPB 5867 tapping mandrel with a micro-compensation mechanism for safe tapping on synchronous machines. The axial micro-curvature of ± 0.5 mm integrated into the mechanism compensates for micro-deviations between spindle rotation, feed speed and thread pitch, which eliminates stress and tap failure. Result: users get high quality threads, especially in blind hole applications.

Compared with conventional non-compensated tapping mandrels, the EPB 5867 increases the tapping rate significantly and extends the tool life by absorbing the axial force that would be transferred to the tap itself. Moreover, the performance of this mandrel does not depend on the material to be machined; Users in all segments of the industry can therefore benefit from optimum versatility for these applications.

The EPB 5867 mandrel fits HSK-A, DIN-AD, BT-AD and Seco-Capto ™ pins as well as Weldon / Whistle-Notch attachments or cylindrical attachments that can be mounted on many tool holders. The range covers tap sizes from M2 to M30, equipped with ER11, ER20, ER25 and ER40 tapping clamps with square drive. The clamping nuts of the clamp may also include sealing rings to ensure the passage of cooling liquid through the tap through internal watering channels.

? In addition to the EPB 5867 mandrel, the Seco range offers EPB 5283 quick-change tapping and axial feed chuck for non-synchronized machines. EPB 5260 quick-change tapping chucks and EPB 5865 ER chucks provide a synchronized and robust application, only possible on synchronized machines.
