SICK CSM Color Detector
Saturday, February 21, 2015Description :
Available in a miniature case, this new color sensor with IO-LINK detects and controls with great reliability the characteristics of colors of objects even in the presence of glossy surfaces

The small CSM color detector is easy to set up thanks to a simple learning process. Its new IO-Link function allows intelligent diagnosis, visualization of data and easy format change. Thanks to its switching frequency up to 2 kHz, CSM can also be used on fast machines and manufacturing processes.

With its three monochrome LEDs (RGB LED), the CSM color sensor generates a beam of white light by additive synthesis. It is this beam that is projected onto the object to be checked. From the reflected radiation, the sensor calculates the chromatic coordinates and compares them with pre-stored reference colors.

Thanks to the presence of IO-LINK, the parameters of the different formats can be memorized once and for all. Then, activate them by calling them from the sensor memory. Format changes are quick and simple with the CSM. Other advantages of IO-Link include visualization of signal quality and output of quality features for extended diagnostics.

Main characteristics:

• Color detector in a new miniaturized housing

• Static and automatic teach-in via control console or IO-Link

• Better behavior on shiny surfaces

• Switching frequency up to 2 kHz (IO-Link 1 kHz)

• Range 12.5 mm +/- 3 mm

• RGB Transmitter

• Remote monitoring and diagnostics via IO-Link function

• Compatible with color sensors
