With its Vectolub system, SKF brings an original solution, which consists in automatically projecting, at regular intervals, a finely proportioned quantity of lubricant.
The advantages of continuous lubrication are numerous. For example, machining and machining machines can work at higher speeds and the tool life of the machine tools is increased (especially on high-speed machining machines). Another aspect: as the lubricant is finely dosed, waste is avoided and the personnel present on the workstation is less exposed.
Moreover, on the machining machines, the lubricant is located precisely, the parts and the chips remain clean and do not require degreasing. This also saves money. Experience shows that the investment is amortized in a few months ...
The Vectolub has evolved recently with the announcement of the VTEC modular system.
The principle is unchanged: the lubricant stored in a reservoir is dispersed in the form of microdroplets (from 200 to 600 ?m) over the areas to be lubricated. The spray nozzle which provides the lubricant / air mixture is designed so as to avoid atomization of the lubricant and the formation of a mist.
Several forms of nozzles have been devised (round, oval, circular, and even special shapes to adapt to certain special cases such as sawing). Doses (from 3 mm3 / s) are injected by pneumatic pumps operating up to 3 strokes per second.
The VTEC system is the latest generation of Vectolub technology.
It is a modular system, therefore adaptable as close as possible to the need, possibly comprising 1 to 8 juxtaposed injection modules. It is composed of three basic elements: a base, a micropump and control accessories. The assembly is fixed on a DIN rail. All external connections are made with snap fittings.
Each of the injection modules can have its own operating parameters (in particular the beat frequency of the pump and the supply of air). It is also possible to realize configurations where several of the modules have identical parameters; In this case, the piloting of these modules takes place from a module placed upstream, in a master / slave operation mode.
VTEC is available in a multitude of manifolds, solenoid valves, flow controllers, micropumps, etc., so as to fit as closely as possible.
Some features:
• 1 to 8 lubrication points
• Flow ranges: 3 to 90 mm3 / stroke, adjustable by rings or rollers.
• Beat frequency: maximum 3 strokes / second
• Lubricant: mineral, synthetic or ecological oils, with an effective viscosity of 10 to 400 mm2 / s
• Air supply: 5 to 8 bars,> 800 Nl / min
• Power supply: 24 Vdc
• Operating temperature: +10 to +50 ° C
• Rail mounting EN
