The Seco ceramic platelets type T, excellent in most applications
Sunday, March 13, 2016Description :
The new range of Secomax ™ CS100 sialon ceramics can improve roughing and semi-finishing performance by adding T-type geometry. This sharp cutting geometry allows new platelets to perform operations For turning nickel-based superalloys, in any type of machining conditions and environments.
Perfectly suited for turning applications, the CS100 type T (chamfered) inserts permit tight tolerances with low cutting forces. These plates have a chamfer of 0.10 mm width at 20 degrees. The cutting edges are designed to absorb high pressure and cutting forces.
As a result, these pads eliminate the risk of deformation of the workpiece, particularly in thin-walled components, and reduce excessive vibration, which reduces the life of the tool and damages the surface finish. The characteristics of the type T plates are complementary to those of the CS100 type S (chamfered and tonneled) products designed to handle high cutting forces under unstable and non-rigid machining conditions.
The complementarity of the type T and type S plates of the CS100 range offers good resistance to abrasion and optimum toughness. This increases the life of the tool and allows high cutting speeds when processing difficult materials such as Inconel, MAR, RENE and Waspaloy. In other words, these wafers provide high productivity, consistent quality and an optimal price / quality ratio, particularly suited to the aeronautics and energy production sectors.
In addition, Seco has expanded its range of tool holders for ceramic wafers. Available in square-section and Seco-Capto ™ versions, the special locations and clamps of these wafer holders allow for the perfect holding of these wafers (without holes) in any type of internal and external machining.
