New compact and insensitive chip insulation in igus R2.40
Thursday, March 10, 2016Description :
New cable sleeve made of polymers igus R2.40

Compact and insensitive to chips
Lids on both sides for easy filling igus presented to the Europack and EMO lounges a cable duct of the R2 series with an internal height of 40 mm designed to offer a solution suitable for compact mounting spaces, in machines -for example. Like its larger sister, the R2.75 with an internal height of 75 mm, the new sheath offers protection against chips, dust and dirt. It is also easy to open and close, making assembly tasks easier.
Cable chains preventing chip penetration, called sheaths, allow the user to protect the cables from external influences in dirty environments or inside working perimeters. Made from the economical E2 principle (two-piece link) made of igus polymers optimized in tribological terms, the R2 series cable ducts offer protection against dirt and chips, in addition to their absence of grease and d 'interview.
At the Europack and EMO show, igus presented this jacket to the professional public in a new interior height of 40 millimeters.

This opens in the outer radius (R2.40) or in the internal radius (R2i.40) and thus allows the user to choose the variant that is most suitable for filling it with cables and pipes. The covers pivot on all variants and do not need to be removed for filling the duct.
A structure that spares cables ... and ears

The contours of the lids of the R2.40 sheath are smooth, their convex shape and their tight manufacturing tolerances prevent chips from accumulating between the stops. The smooth inner contours and the rounded notched dividers made of the same material also provide the cables.

The integrated detent also ensures good internal division even for edge applications. The integrated brake reduces the noise level of the duct. It also reduces vibrations, guaranteeing precise work at the workpiece for example.

Its double stops allow the cable duct to handle high additional loads as well as long self-supporting strokes.
The universal mounting elements of the R2.40 also contribute to the protection against chips and allow many possibilities of relief of the tensile forces by means of integrated combs.
